The Northview Athletic Boosters is a committee of community members dedicated to the success and development of all Northview athletic programs. While Northview works to resist establishing a “pay-to-play” environment like so many of our local school districts, the Athletic Boosters’ needs assistance at concessions, fundraisers, and other sporting events.
The Northview Athletic Boosters are looking for a few good men – or women – to serve as Trustees for a two-year term. If your sons or daughters have benefited from the outstanding athletic programs at Northview – and you’re looking to “give something back” to the program – becoming a Northview Athletic Booster Trustee is an excellent avenue for service. Trustees work in conjunction with the Athletic Director to allocate upwards of $50,000 or more each year to the athletic equipment, scholarships and activity not funded by the athletic department.
Funds are raised in a variety of ways, including concessions at the various sporting events, the annual elephant ears booth at Grand Rapids Festival, the annual New Year’s Eve Party, numerous Texas Hold ‘Em nights and other activities.
The Athletic Booster Trustees meet the first Monday night of each month, except April and July, at 7 p.m. in the Northview High School Fitness Classroom (by pool). If you are interested in learning more about the Boosters, plan to attend a meeting at your convenience. All meetings are open to the public. Make your voice heard and wishes known by joining the Northview Athletic Boosters.
NOTE OF SYMPATHY – January 2017
The Northview Community is mourning the loss of Jon Fournier. Jon was a beloved and trusted friend, co-worker, community volunteer, father, and husband. Jon was only 46 years old and passed away from a massive brain aneurysm. All those who knew Jon quickly knew the love and pride he had in his family; wife Holly and sons JT, Nate and Eli. He spoke of them every opportunity he had. They were often at his side for his many community endeavors. Jon passionately and enthusiastically served in many organizations such as All Saints Academy, Boy Scouts of America Troop 219, and Northview Athletic Boosters. He wore many hats within each of those organizations such as grill team, Festival GR General, merit badge counselor, and many more. Most importantly, Jon leaves a tremendous legacy that will not be matched and his footprints and handiwork are all over this community. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help offset the cost of the family’s fitting decision to share the ultimate gift of organ donation, which could reach up to 25+ recipients. Keep the Fournier family in your thoughts and prayers.
