Community

The Northview community is a wonderful place to live and learn.  In addition to lessons in the classroom, Northview Public Schools provides the community (adult and youth) with opportunities that teach beyond the classroom.  From the babe in arms to the senior citizen, offerings include an assortment of youth and adult recreational, cultural and enrichment activities.

ADULT ENRICHMENT provides the best in lifelong learning and recreational opportunities.  YOUTH ENRICHMENT activities expand your child’s learning beyond the school day with a variety of fun classes along with YOUTH SPORTSYOUTH SUMMER CAMPS offer an array of sporting activities and enrichment topics to capture excitement during those warm summer months.

The NORTHVIEW FITNESS CENTER is a convenient and affordable community fitness facility where adults, seniors and students can work out side-by-side to get healthy and stay healthy.

Northview’s state-of-the-art SWIMMING FACILITY is committed to improving the health, safety, enjoyment and athletic competition of the Northview community.  The pool supports all competitive water sports with 13 lanes and two levels for diving (2 -1 meter boards and 1 – 3 meter board).

The Max Colley Jr. PERFORMING ARTS CENTER is a 750-seat performing arts theater enriching the lives of everyone in our community through student performances and a variety of touring concerts and shows.

Other Northview programs offered to the community include DAY CARE, PRESCHOOL, BRIGHT BEGINNINGS EARLY CHILDHOOD and NORTHVIEW SENIOR CITIZENS where opportunities abound for young and old alike.

UPCOMING EVENT – Father/Daughter Dance

Father-Daughter Dance 2017
Saturday, February 25 (6:30 – 8:30 p.m.)

Join in on the fun at the Father-Daughter Dance at NHS.  This event is for kindergarten through 8th grade daughters and their dads.  Enjoy an evening with refreshments, dancing, a DJ and prizes.  A photographer and photo booth will be available at an additional cost beginning at 6 p.m.  Cost is $10 per person.  Watch for flyers to be sent home in January.  Flyers can be downloaded (see below).  For tickets, send names, address, phone number, e-mail address and payment to:  Northview Community Education/Dance at 4350 Ambrose NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.  A ticket list will be at the door.  NO TICKETS will be mailed.  Questions?  Call 361-3444 or e-mail jhigdon-bovo@nvps.net
