Fall 2019

Fit-4-U

All classes are planned for varying individual work rates and ability levels.

We are partnering with our very own Northview Fitness Center to offer an Adult Enrichment Fit-4-U program. Each 7-week class-program meets weekly on the same day and time so you can get you on the path for a more healthy and fit you!

 

Cost is $45 per 7 week program. Discounts given when you pre-pay for 2 or more programs at the same time. (see registration form for more information)

Each Fit-4-U program consists of a 7 week class period. Pre-registration is highly recommended but walk-ins are welcome on the first night of the series.

Body Sculpt

This class focuses on strength training and muscle tone. Be prepared to work with a mixture of light hand weights, barbells, kettlebells, and other equipment for a full all-over body workout.

Boot Camp

This circuit training boot camp alternates strength training exercises with aerobic cardio activities to give you two workouts in one. Classes are varied each day and combine intervals of cardio drills and muscle conditioning exercises to provide you with the ultimate circuit workout.

Rip and Ride

Indoor group cycling meets strength training.

Get your heart rate pumping with a fun paced 30 minute cycling class. We will finish with 30 minutes of “off bike” strength training utilizing free weights and other equipment. All fitness levels welcome. Cyclops stationary bikes are equipped to accommodate both SBD clip shoes as well as tennis shoes. Space is limited in this class to 8 bikes so register early.

Water Aerobics

An excellent way to tone and strengthen your body with little to no impact to your joints. This popular water workout is a blend of cardio and resistance strength training, and may incorporate water resistance equipment such as noodles or paddle boards.

X-Fit

This class is based on functional movements performed at high intensity and incorporates elements from weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting, calisthenics, high-intensity interval training, and other exercises.

Yoga

This Vinyasa style flow is based on linking breath with movement that will allow you to flow, align and connect with your innerself. ALL levels and bodies are welcome and encouraged to join in this healthy practice!! Bring your own yoga mat or we have a few that can be reserved.

Zumba

A total workout to a fusion of Latin and International music with dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, and fun workout! Zumba combines all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility. You will feel a boost of energy to make you feel awesome each time you leave class.

Parking

The “Bus-loop” parking area is available in the mornings until 7:00 AM and anytime in the evenings.  Additional parking can be found at any adjacent lot.

Entry

Enter through the front SE door of the High School where you see the Fitness Center sign above the entry. The check-in office is down the hall on your left.

Check-In

Check in 10-15 minutes before class time with the desk attendant.

What to wear and bring.

Dress in comfortable work out clothing and tennis shoes. Bathing suits or shorts/tank tops are suitable for Water Aerobics class.

Bring a water bottle to all classes to form good hydration habits. Those practicing Yoga should bring their own mat or reserve one of ours in advance.

Adult Sports Night

Highlands Middle School – 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Back by popular demand! Fall sessions start in October!

Our Adult Co-ed Sport Nights are a fun and casual way to meet community members while enjoying a sport. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to novice.

Pay one fee for the entire fall program or pay $5 for each night you attend.

Pickleball

Pickleball Lessons

Beginner and intermediate classes taught by Debby Flynn for anyone 12 and older.

-Drills to help you improve your game.

Pre-registration one week prior to the start of the session is highly recommended.

Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan is the Chinese system of slow, meditative physical exercise designed for relaxation and improvement of balance, brain activity and overall general health. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student, we welcome you to join us to feel the benefits of practicing Tai Chi. Please Join Us!

Fall Session Dates: September 16 through November 4

Times: Advanced 6:15 pm | Beginner 7:30 pm

Cost: $65 (cash or check only please)

Location: Northview High School Media Center (enter through the back NW NHS entryway)

Tuition and Refund Policies

1. FEES: Please make checks payable to Northview Public Schools and mail or drop off at the Community Education office located at 4561 Hunsberger. EARLY REGISTRATION is highly encouraged to ensure having each class offered. It is necessary that a minimum number of participants enroll to determine if the instructor/coordinator wishes to proceed with the class.

2. CONFIRMATIONS OR REMINDERS: You will not receive a confirmation or reminder about the class/program. Simply show up on the first day and your name will be on the list. Should you need verification on receipt of your payment and registration, please contact the Community Education office via email to verify.

3. REFUNDS: A full refund is made if the class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or if the class fills before your registration is received. If you withdraw from a class up to three full working days in advance of its starting date, you receive a full refund minus a $10 processing fee. There will be NO REFUND if you cancel on the day the class begins and NO REFUNDS OR PRORATED FEES are made after the class has started, regardless of attendance.

4. CLASS CANCELLATIONS: Classes and programs are cancelled on any day that the school it is held in, is closed for any reason. (ie: Snow days, holidays, etc) Whenever possible your instructor will notify you of “day of” school cancellations but generally these will be noted on the local new outlets. These cancellations will not be rescheduled but in some circumstances the instructor will work with the students to rectify this.
