Youth Summer Camps at Northview offer an array of sporting activities to capture the excitement of Northview students during those warm summer months.

Refund Policy:

A full refund will be made if the class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or the class fills before your registration is received.

If you withdraw from a course up to three full working days in advance of its starting date, you will receive a full refund minus a $10 processing fee

NO REFUND if you cancel on the day the class begins

NO REFUNDS will be made after the class has started, regardless of attendance

 

NOTES:

The grades indicated for each camp reflect the 2018-2019 school year.

ONE T- Shirt is provided per child for Summer Sports Camp. You will receive an additional $5 off your second Summer Sports Camp and $10 off your third Summer Sports Camp, per child. Discounts do not apply for Enrichment classes. ONE T-Shirt will be given at your first Enrichment class.

ONE cinch bag is provided per child for Summer Sports Camp and Summer Enrichment Camp.

Tennis

Tennis Summer Camp (Grades K – 12)

Times:  Monday – Thursday *rain days can be made up at any future day of camp; Week 4 of camp has Friday, July 27th as lone makeup date, even if multiple dates that week are rained out.

High School Varsity/JV Camp (Grades 8-12): 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

  • An instructional tennis camp in which fundamentals, game improvement, team competition, competitive match play, strategy, fitness, and FUN are the main focus.

Camp Fee: $50 per week of camp (HS or MS)

 

Middle School Intermediate Camp (Grades 4-7):  9:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

  • 30 minutes of fundamental tennis instruction plus over an hour of drills, match play, games, fitness conditioning, & FUN under the sun.

Camp Fee: $50 per week of camp

 

Elementary School Rookies Camp (Grades K-3):  10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

  • A fun tennis experience working on hand/eye coordination, listening skills, teamwork, and basic tennis fundamentals. A great way to build love of the game! Making exercise fun under the sun.

Camp Fee: $50 per week of camp

Volleyball

Upper-Elementary Volleyball Summer Camp (Grades 3-7)

This program is designed for beginner players interested in learning all the fundamental skills of the game.  Hitting, setting and blocking will be introduced with emphasis placed on passing, serving, court communication and developing an understanding of the basic rules and philosophies of the game.

Intermediate-Level Volleyball Summer Camp (Grades 8 – 10)

This program is designed for beginner to intermediate players interested in learning and/or improving on all the fundamental skills of the game.  Technical training in setting, passing, hitting, serving along with live game play will be introduced and practiced daily.  Offensive and defensive philosophies of the middle school and high school program will be introduced and emphasized.

Football

Wildcat Youth Football Clinic (Grades 1 – 6)

Campers will be taught the fundamentals and teamwork required to become a successful athlete in a fun and high energy atmosphere. This camp will help each camper achieve a new level of self confidence while focusing on solid football knowledge and skills. Campers will be broken into instruction groups and will have an opportunity to work on offensive, defensive, and special team drill stations with Head Football Coach Trip Gallery and members of our assistant coaching staff as well as many current Northview players. Campers are also encouraged to have fun, exercise, and do well in school through motivational talks given by our staff and players during camp.

Northview Football Team Camp

Campers will be taught the fundamentals and teamwork required to become a successful athlete in a fun and high energy atmosphere. This camp will help each camper achieve a new level of self confidence while focusing on solid football knowledge and skills. Campers will be broken into instruction groups and will have an opportunity to work on offensive, defensive, and special team drill stations with Head Football Coach Trip Gallery and members of our Middle School coaching staff as well as many current Northview players and coaches. We will install our base Defense and Offense during this camp. Campers are also encouraged to have fun, exercise, and do well in school through motivational talks given by our staff and players during camp.

Lacross

BOYS Lacrosse Summer Camp (Grades 5-12)

This camp is designed to instruct current and future lacrosse players in the philosophy of our lacrosse program.  Camp attendees will work on the fundamental skills of lacrosse, learn offensive and defensive philosophies and practice in individual and group drills. Instruction will be provided by Northview High School Lacrosse coaching staff along with current and former Northview Lacrosse players.

Players must have a lacrosse stick, gloves, and helmet to participate. If you would like to participate but are lacking equipment, please contact the head coach at jwoodwardru@gmail.com.

Rowing

Learn to row co-ed summer camp (Grades 6-9)

This camp is for the youth interested in learning the basics of competitive rowing on the Grand River. Rowing is a varsity sport in which virtually all join with no prior experience. Campers will learn sweep rowing in fours and eights and sculling in doubles and quads. No special equipment required other than tight fitting shorts.

Soccer

CO-ED Soccer Summer Camp (Grades K-9)                        

This camp teaches fundamental soccer skills to young soccer players. The focus will be on proper techniques of dribbling, shooting, passing, and defending. Player’s age and ability level will be used to divide players into developmental groups as needed.

Beginner/Intermediate     Grades K – 6  6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Boys High School Soccer Summer Camp (Grades 7 – 12)

Monday and Tuesday we will be working on passing, dribbling, shooting and trapping techniques. There will be a skills competition on Monday and Tuesday with prizes. On Wednesday and Thursday, we will be playing small sided games in World Cup “like” tournament. Winners of this tournament will receive championship t-shirts.

Cheerleading

Cheerleading Summer Camp (Grades 1-6)

This camp is for the youth interested in learning and developing the fundamentals of sideline cheerleading. Daily sessions will include stunts, jumps and cheers including the Northview fight song routine. On the fourth day of camp, campers will be practicing sideline cheering at the high school football stadium. Parents and family are invited to come watch on this day.

Basketball

 BOYS Basketball Summer Camp – Beginner (Grades 3-5)

This camp is for youth interested in learning and developing the fundamental skills for the game. The camp will provide an introduction to basic offensive and defensive fundamentals by Northview Boys Basketball staff. Daily sessions will include instructions, demonstrations, organized individual and group drill practice for essential fundamentals along with competing in competitions and structured scrimmage situations.

(Grades 6-8)

This camp, instructed by Northview Boys Basketball staff, is for beginners as well as advanced players interested in developing their knowledge and skill development for the game of basketball. Campers will be introduced to the offensive and defensive philosophy for the basketball program including learning the Northview high school system. Daily sessions will include instruction, demonstration, and organized individual and group drill practice for the essential fundamentals along with competing in competitions and structured scrimmage situations.

BOYS Basketball Summer Camp – Advanced (Grades 9-12)

This camp, instructed by Northview Boys Basketball staff, is for players interested in advancing their learning and skill development for basketball in preparation for tryouts for a high school team. The camp will provide teaching and reinforcement for individual fundamentals along with instruction for team offensive and defensive concepts congruent with the philosophy and system for the Northview basketball program. Daily session will include campers practicing fundamental through individual and group drills along with competing in structured scrimmages and contests.

**NEW CLASS!! Pre-competitive Swim lessons**!!

This class is designed for swimmers who can already swim freestyle with rotary breathing and backstroke.  Emphasis will be on learning to perform all 4 competitive strokes, as well as starts (off diving blocks) and turns.  Swimmers should be able to swim 25 (one length) of the pool unassisted.

Cost:  Classes are $75 for Northview residents, staff, and students; $85 for all out of district.  Payment is due at first class.  Classes are limited to 5 for ages for 3-5 and 6 for ages 6-12.  Minimum number of participants is 3 for a class to run.

  • If you find you cannot attend the class after reserving your spot, PLEASE cancel at least 1 week in advance so someone from the wait list can be emailed to attend.
