Learn From Home Phase 2

In Northview, we are committed to providing our families with a comprehensive and reasonable approach to remote learning. We know that the mandated school closure has created unique challenges for every home. Our team of educators and support staff has worked hard to be creative, focused and intentional about providing every student with continued learning opportunities. We are in this together, Northview, and we are here for you.

Main Components of the Learn from Home Phase 2 Plan

Student Choice & Engagement

Our teachers have created lessons and activities that involve student choice in the learning. We believe that when students are given the power to actively participate in choosing what and how to learn, they are more engaged and creative.

Priority Standards

For the past three years, Northview teachers and administrators have been participating in professional work around the establishment of the most essential learning standards for all students. This process ensures that every student, in every classroom has similar expectations for learning. Because of this work, our staff already know where to focus student learning during our school closure. We will focus only on the most essential learning for the remaining weeks of our school year — these are our Priority Standards.

The Whole Child

Northview’s commitment to the support and development of the Whole Child is unwavering… even during the mandated school closure. Our Learn from Home Phase 2 Plan includes supports and resources for the academic, physical, mental and emotional well-being of all of our students.

Family/Student Expectations

All students are expected to participate in our Learn from Home Phase 2 Plan. Teachers will be connecting with students every week and monitoring participation. If you have questions about your student’s learning or barriers to participating, please contact us.

Establish and support clear expectations for learning in the home. Create a home learning environment that is conducive to learning.

Please let us know if you need anything at all. We are working alongside you throughout the coming weeks. If you are in need of additional academic support, meals, technology, or anything else please reach out to us.
