By volunteering in our schools, you, as a shareholder, ensure the quality of education given to all of our students. The Northview Public School District has several volunteer opportunities available. If you are interested in volunteering at Crossroads, for more information please call 616.361.3430
Parent volunteers are vital to the success of our school. There are many ways that you can become involved. We have opportunities both during the day and after hours, as well as tasks that you may be able to do from home. No deed is too small! (All volunteers will need to complete Northview’s VOLUNTEER CONSENT FORM – available and turned in at the school office.) Here’s a sample of opportunities:
Classroom Volunteer: There are many opportunities to assist teachers with preparation of materials, reading with a small group and practicing math facts. In addition, language arts teachers need help organizing their classroom libraries. Contact Kathy Vogel at email@example.com
Library Volunteer: Need help shelving books, laminating and bulletin boards; contact firstname.lastname@example.org

Reverse Job Shadow Day: Each April we host Reverse Job Shadow. On this day, students have the opportunity to hear about several professions. We need speakers as well as people to help greet guests, set up rooms, prepare breakfast and lunch for our guests. Contact Kristy Templar at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Global Youth Service Day Volunteer: To make Global Youth Service Day a success, Kathy Vogel (email@example.com) will need a number of volunteers to run events and help gather materials and supplies. Look for a note in April about the fun volunteer opportunities on Global Youth Service Day. Wildcat
Writer’s Club: Students who enjoy writing are invited to attend this after school club. These students meet regularly to work on their stories as well as work on them at home. Early in the spring, we invite students to publish one or more pieces for our Crossroads Writer’s Book. These students are also given the first opportunity to attend Calvin College Writer’s Festival held in April. Volunteers are invited to share their writing and simply provide feedback. We would like to grow this club and invite various writers into their work. We need help finding writers and coordinating visits. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Crossroads PTC: Crossroads PTC does so much for our students and staff by providing funding for resources in the classroom, field trips and other opportunities our students may not otherwise get to experience. Additionally, they Teacher Appreciation Week and much, much more! We encourage you to attend the PTC meetings to learn of volunteer opportunities that fit into your schedule.
