The Northview Day Care Program provides a nurturing and safe environment for children (enrolled in Developmental Kindergarten – 6th grade) of working parents. We are open before school, after school, half days and some “No School” days for your child care needs. Northview offers both a FALL SCHOOL YEAR PROGRAM and a SUMMER PROGRAM. The programs are licensed by the State of Michigan.
The Day Care strives to create a homelike atmosphere including ample opportunity to choose from a variety of activities fostering growth in these developmental areas: physical, social, emotional, and educational. We believe that each and every child is a unique individual possessing special talents, needs, and feelings. Our goal is to encourage those talents and meet their needs, to the best of our abilities, while in our care.
♥NORTHVIEW DAY CARE is FULL as of September 12, 2016.
YMCA CHILD CARE INFORMATION MEETING
Please join us Tuesday, April 18 at 5:30 p.m. in the High School media center for an informational meet regarding the partnership with the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids and NVPS to provide child care Summer 2017 and Fall 2017/18 school year. Information provided will include program timeline, pricing, registration information and other helpful materials.
Attention parents: If your child attended before school last week (3/6-3/10) they may have been exposed to Mononucleosis commonly referred to as “Mono”. Please see the information sheet below from the CDC regarding the illness. NEDC takes precautions to prevent the spread of illnesses within the center. If you have any questions please feel free ask.
Calendars for the following month are due by the 10th of the current month.
Day Care is closed on the Friday before school begins, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Year’s Break, the last Friday of spring break, 4th of July and Memorial Day. When snow days are announced for Northview Public Schools, please listen to Instant Alert/TV/Radio/Website for details on day care opening/closing.
3.10.2016 NOTE TO PARENTS:
ATTENTION PARENTS: If your child’s April calendar was not turned in on time, you are not guaranteed care over Spring Break. April calendars were due: Thursday, March 10. Once a half and/or no school day fills up, we will start a waiting list for that day. PLEASE TURN CALENDARS IN ON TIME TO GUARANTEE YOUR CHILD HAS A SPOT ON NO SCHOOL AND ½ DAYS!
Attention Parents: We have had numerous families forget to schedule their children on ½ days and no school days. These days are marked on scheduling calendars, posted on the door at NEDC and noted in newsletters. Do to spatial and staffing constraints we will be capping our numbers on those days. If your child(ren) are not already scheduled, there may not be room for them to add. Please make yourself aware of these days. Day Care will try to be flexible with scheduling, however, that is not always possible.
Just a reminder all students will attend the NEDC building because Highlands is not available on ½ and no school days. If you are a parent who only receives their schedules weekly, it may be a better option to schedule and cancel if you are not in need of care, than potentially not have space. For your reference here is a list of all remaining 1/2, no school and NEDC closed dates:
Monday 5/25/15 NEDC CLOSED
Wednesday 6/3/15-Friday 6/5/15 ½ day
9/22/14 NOTE TO PARENTS: SCHEDULING CALENDARS
Scheduling calendars are due on the 10th of the previous month (October calendars were due September 10th). $5 per child will be applied each week until the calendars are turned in. DHS parents and weekly scheduling parent MUST turn in calendars and are responsible to pay late fees. If NEDC is required to fill out a calendar for your children, you will be charged the MAX late fee. It is crucial that calendars are turned in on time. Scheduling calendars are used for staffing, for billing and most importantly, to know when your children are attending. Your child’s safety is our #1 priority and if we don’t know when they are attending, we cannot make sure they are safely where they are supposed to be.
2/16/14 NOTE TO PARENTS: NOTICE ON LATE CALENDARS
We have been having a lot of families whose calendars are not turned in on time. Calendars are due on the 10th of the month prior to the month. This has always been our policy. It is outlined in the parent handbook on pages 7 & 8. If your child(ren)’s calendar is not turned in on time it makes it very difficult for us to do billing, make changes, do sign in/out sheets and staff.
We have ½ days, no school days and spring break coming up. Families whose calendars are NOT turned in on time will NOT be guaranteed spots on those days. You will need to call ahead to make sure there is room for your child to attend. Thank you in advance for understanding.
Registration Fee: $50 per family (non-refundable)
Before School (6:30-8:30 a.m.): $8/day
After School (3-6 p.m.): $10/day

6/4/2014 NOTE TO PARENTS: BILLING (EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 2014)
Scheduling Calendars are due on the 10th of the previous month (September calendars are due August 10). $5 per child will be applied each week until the calendars are turned in. DHS parents will be responsible to pay late fees. Bills will be available to parents by the end of the day on the 1st of the month or the 1st day we are open if the 1st falls over a weekend or break. Payments are due on the 15th of the month. If not paid in full by the end of the month, families cannot attend until the bill is paid off in full.
10/2013 TUITION PUNCH CARD SAVINGS
Starting October 2013 is a tuition punch card program. For every month that your child’s bill is paid for in full by 6 p.m. on the last day of the month, you will receive a “punch” on your card. After you have received 5 “punches,” your account will be credited $25 per family. Nicholette will be documenting your payments and making the “punches” on your cards each month. The punch cards will be located in a lime green box on the parent shelf next to the sign in/out sheet at NEDC. Check your punch card status at any time. Please leave the cards at NEDC. Thank you for your participation!
