16 Jan Observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day
In observance of the call to do better for others, a variety of service projects will take place during the day to affirm the call for a “day on, not a day off”.
Groups involved will be :
Educational Leadership- a partnership with elementary students in the morning.
Art Club- making dog and cat toys after school for a local animal shelter.
Student Council- sponsoring creation tables to make cards for Veterans during both lunches.
WAVE- making 500 baggies of trail mix for Kids Food Basket after school.
As well we will sponsor Julian Newman, our district DYP coordinator, who will do two short assemblies on the MLK legacy for the high school in the morning for all students and staff and then will travel to Crossroads Middle School at 10:15 AM to deliver an inspirational message and introduce DYP presentations coming in March.
