Our Parent Group

Parent volunteers are welcomed & encouraged at Highlands Middle School!  There are a variety of different ways to be involved…from chaperoning a field trip, providing a dish to pass for teachers during Conferences, selling pizza or making snow cones at a Friday Fun Day, helping students select or wrap gifts purchased at the Holiday Shop, to organizing or staffing fundraisers.  If you have questions or would like additional information, please contact… ptchighlands56@gmail.com or go to our Facebook page at Highlands Middle School PTC.

2017-2018 Highlands PTC Committee Chairpersons

The Highlands PTC is looking for a few parent volunteers to chair a committee for the 2017-2018 school year.  Once we have our chairpersons in place, the PTC Board will begin recruiting additional volunteers to serve on each committee.  If you have questions about what being a chairperson entails, please contact Karlie Rittenhouse at 616-361-3440 or at ptchighlands56@gmail.com.

Or e-mail us at ptchighlands56@gmail.com

Help Us Raise Funds for Highlands!!

The Highlands PTC raises money to fund events and activities that are important to your child’s educational experience…things like Field trips, 6th grade camp, Field Day, the Holiday Shop, playground equipment and more.  Below are ways you help ensure these things continue, many just through your everyday shopping!

  • Collect & send these to school with your child: Ask Grandma & Grandpa to help!
  • Boxtops for Education – General Mills, Betty Crocker, Ziploc, Pillsbury, Huggies & more.
  • Labels for Education – Campbell’s, Spaghettio’s, V8, Goldfish, Pop Secret & more.

Just clip & send to school in a baggie with your child’s homeroom teacher’s name on it so that we can credit the right class.  The top earning individual class & grade level will receive a special reward!

  • Designate Highlands as your charity of choice with the following retailers:

& designate Highlands PTC under “Community Rewards” using group #776911.  The Meijer 1 card is NOT a credit card.  When swiped at the register during checkout, a percentage of your purchase will be donated back to Highlands!  And the best news is, EVERY PURCHASE throughout the year counts!

  • Target – Go to http://www.target.com/ & designate Highlands #62777 for your Target Credit or Debit REDcard account. 1% of ALL purchases throughout the year will be donated back to Highlands!
  • Donate My Coke Rewards points: Save those twist tops! You can create an account online at mycokerewards.com & enter codes to collect points that can then be donated to Highlands Middle School.  Otherwise, save your clean caps in a gallon Ziploc bag & send them into the school so that we can do the job for you!
