For any Freshman, Sophomore or Junior who is interested in the NYC trip, we have great news! Until February 29th, the price has been lowered to $1,169. A savings of $40. See Ms. Rogers or Ms. Michewicz for more information.
Attention Juniors: On Thursday, March 26th ALL Juniors MUST plan to attend a mandatory registration session for the Spring SAT, WorkKeys and M-STEP Tests. This registration session will take place in the cafeteria from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. Please bring a #2 pencil to this session.
Girls Who Code Club is open to all High School girls wanting to learn more about the field of computer coding. This is a career field seeking more involvement from women, and we are providing you with the tools to help you learn more about it. Please join us in the Fishbowl every Monday from 2:45 to 4:00. There is a minimal club fee of $10 to help cover snacks and other expenses.
Attention all baseball players: There will be a mandatory meeting in the PE classroom next Wednesday, February 26th at 2:45. You must attend or confirm your absence with Coach Denton.
Attention Juniors and Seniors! The Northview Writing Center will host another Scholarship Writing Session during lunches, on Wednesday, February 26th in the Writing Lab. We will explore scholarship opportunities with approaching deadlines and review scholarship applications you have already written. Be sure to bring your work, and feel free to check it out on Wednesday, February 26th during lunch if you are interested!
KCTC is now offering Program Visits for students interested in attending KCTC for next fall. Students must reserve a spot ahead of time. Stop in the Counseling Office for the form and more information.
Grand Rapids Police will be hosting their Summer Youth Police Academy. This is open to 10th through 12th grade students who have a 2.0 GPA and interested in law enforcement. Stop in the Counseling Office for more information.
The Roger B. Chaffee scholarship deadline is Saturday, February 29th for seniors going into science. If you are at all interested, please see the Counseling Office or Mr. Burba.
Attention all spring student-athletes planning to play boys and girls lacrosse, baseball, softball and girls soccer: We will be holding open lab times on the following dates to complete required baseline concussion testing:
• Thursday, February 27
• Wednesday, March 4
• Thursday, March 5
Testing will begin promptly at 2:50 PM in the Media Center/Fishbowl. Students that produced a valid test during the fall or winter season do not need to repeat testing; a list of valid tests is posted outside the athletic office and the SRC. Any questions see Mr. Brinks or Mr. Killinger.
After school CATS will be held in the Writing Lab on all the above dates.
The Army will visit during lunches on Tuesday, March 3rd.
KCTC is holding their “Spring Open House” on Thursday, March 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. This is an excellent opportunity for students and their families to explore the various programs that KCTC has to offer.
KCTC Criminal Justice applications for the 2020-2021 school year, are now available in the Counseling office. Deadline to apply is by 3:00 PM on Friday, March 6th.

The Speed Building Competition is for people who can build a brand new kit really fast. The Creation Competition is for people who love to use their own LEGOs to build amazing original designs. COLLEGE VISIT REMINDER: if students are planning on taking a day off from school to do a college visit, you must pick up a form in the Counseling office prior to your visit. The absence cannot be excused without the required form turned into the attendance office.
