STUDENT BODY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Congratulations to our Girls Bowling team on winning the MHSAA D2 Regional championship last Friday. Our boys finished 3rd. Both teams advanced to the MHSAA State Finals. Awesome work Northview.

Anyone that is interested in back stage crew for our upcoming musical, please come to a meeting at 2:45 PM this Wednesday in the PAC! If you are unable to attend the meeting, email Mr. Frank at mfrank@nvps.net.

Bostwick Bakery is hiring for part-time weekend help. Responsibilities include waiting on customers, frosting donuts, basic cleaning, etc. Must be at least 15 years old. If interested, email Kari at Kari@bostwickbakery.com.

Attention students that have signed up to take an A.P. Exam: Final payment is due TODAY if you have a balance due.

Girls Who Code Club is open to all High School girls wanting to learn more about the field of computer coding. This is a career field seeking more involvement from women, and we are providing you with the tools to help you learn more about it. Please join us in the Fishbowl every Monday from 2:45 to 4:00. There is a minimal club fee of $10 to help cover snacks and other expenses.

Attention boys in all grade levels interested in trying out for JV or Varsity Boys golf: There will be an informational meeting after school this Wednesday in Mr. Tull’s room 1228. If you cannot attend, please see Coach Tull in advance.

Attention all spring student-athletes planning to play boys and girls lacrosse, baseball, softball and girls soccer: We will be holding open lab times this Wednesday and Thursday to complete required baseline concussion testing.

Testing will begin promptly at 2:50 PM in the Media Center/Fishbowl. Students that produced a valid test during the fall or winter season do not need to repeat testing; a list of valid tests is posted outside the athletic office and the SRC. Any questions see Mr. Brinks or Mr. Killinger.

After school CATS will be held in the Writing Lab on all the above dates.

• The Navy will visit during lunches next Tuesday, March 10th.

Join the Woman Up! Club this Wednesday, for their ‘feminism for all’ meeting, in celebration of Women’s History Month. Anyone is welcome! The meeting is at 7:15 AM. Hope to see you there!

KCTC is holding their “Spring Open House” this Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. This is an excellent opportunity for students and their families to explore the various programs that KCTC has to offer.

KCTC Criminal Justice applications for the 2020-2021 school year, are now available in the Counseling office. Deadline to apply is by 3:00 PM this Friday.

Interested in joining choir and feel that you are already prepared for the next level? Auditions for Women’s Chorus and Varsity Voices will be during the week of March 9th. You do NOT have to be currently singing in a choir to audition. Swing down to the choir room to sign up for an audition or to ask Mr. Phillipson any questions.

“From the Top”, Northview’s award-winning a cappella group, is heading to Ohio for their International Semi Final in March. The group is selling $10 t-shirts during lunches to raise money for their travel. Help them seize the opportunity to perform in New York City for finals! Interested in joining “From the Top”? Considering a Career in Law Enforcement? The Metro High School Academy is now accepting applications from qualified High School Juniors and Seniors who have an interest in the Law Enforcement Profession. The academy will be held June 15th through June 19th and is free of charge. If you feel that you might be interested in attending and can meet the challenge, please contact the Counseling Office or Deputy Allen.

Attention Juniors: On Thursday, March 26th ALL Juniors MUST plan to attend a mandatory registration session for the Spring SAT, WorkKeys and M-STEP Tests. This registration session will take place in the cafeteria from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. Please bring a #2 pencil to this session.

Anyone wishing to audition for next year’s Advanced Theatre Arts class must sign up for an audition for Thursday, March 26, after school. Sign up forms and time slots are posted on the Drama Club bulletin board. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hoffman at nhoffman@nvps.net.

Grand Rapids Police will be hosting their Summer Youth Police Academy. This is open to 10th through 12th grade students who have a 2.0 GPA and interested in law enforcement. Stop in the Counseling Office for more information.
