Congratulations to Caleb Felker for his amazing powerlifting season which culminated at this weekend’s State Meet. Caleb represented Northview in the 132 pound weight division, lifting a total of 810 pounds across three lifts, earning a 9th place finish overall and setting two school records in the process.

Congratulations to Senior Dan Frey on his D2 Bowling Individual State runner-up finish. Freshman Kyle Pranger was a state semi-finalist. Awesome work Northview!

Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences are TODAY and Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. There is no after school CATS each day, and there is no school for students or staff this Friday.

Attention all students: TODAY after school, we need you to clear out of the cafeteria ASAP to allow staff to set up for tonight’s Parent/Teacher Conferences. Thank you!

Northview Community Ed is partnering with the YMCA to offer babysitting classes to students age 11-15 on Saturday, March 21st from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the High School Collaboration Room. The cost is $55, and more information is in the high school office or at the website.

Girls Who Code Club is open to all High School girls wanting to learn more about the field of computer coding. This is a career field seeking more involvement from women, and we are providing you with the tools to help you learn more about it. Please join us in the Fishbowl every Monday from 2:45 to 4:00. There is a minimal club fee of $10 to help cover snacks and other expenses.

The Navy will visit during lunches TOMORROW.

Mr. Wiersma’s Online classes will be in the Collaboration Room this Thursday.

KCTC applications for the 2020-2021 school year are now available and interested 10th and 11th grade students can pick them up in the Counseling office. Deadline to apply is Friday, March 20th.

Attention Juniors: On Thursday, March 26th ALL Juniors MUST plan to attend a mandatory registration session for the Spring SAT, WorkKeys and M-STEP Tests. This registration session will take place in the cafeteria from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. Please bring a #2 pencil to this session.

Anyone wishing to audition for next year’s Advanced Theatre Arts class must sign up for an audition for Thursday, March 26, after school. Sign up forms and time slots are posted on the Drama Club bulletin board. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hoffman at

Grand Rapids Police will be hosting their Summer Youth Police Academy. This is open to 10th through 12th grade students who have a 2.0 GPA and interested in law enforcement. Stop in the Counseling Office for more information.

Considering a Career in Law Enforcement? The Metro High School Academy is now accepting applications from qualified High School Juniors and Seniors who have an interest in the Law Enforcement Profession. The academy will be held June 15th through June 19th and is free of charge. If you feel that you might be interested in attending and can meet the challenge, please contact the Counseling Office or Deputy Allen.

Looking for a summer job and you’re not 16? The Blythefield Country Club is hiring young people of all ages to join their Caddie Program this summer. Caddying offers the opportunity to make good money with flexible hours. You could even have another job! Students that work three summers could be eligible to apply for the Evans Scholarship which covers full tuition and housing at UM or MSU, if admitted. Training for the summer caddie positions start April 11th. Please see the Counseling Office for more information.

COLLEGE VISIT REMINDER: if students are planning on taking a day off from school to do a college visit, you must pick up a form in the Counseling office prior to your visit. The absence cannot be excused without the required form turned into the attendance office.
