STUDENT BODY ANNOUNCEMENTS

KCTC is now offering Program Visits for students interested in attending KCTC for next fall.  Students must reserve a spot ahead of time.  Stop in the Counseling Office for the form and more information.

 

KCTS is holding their fall OPEN HOUSE on Thursday, October 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.  This is an excellent opportunity for students and their families to explore the various program KCTC has to offer.

 

The annual face painting booths will be open during the first half of the homecoming football game TONIGHT! Stop by and get your spirit on…literally for only a $1.00!

 

Come join the Women Up Club, scheduled to meet next Wednesday, October 9th at 7:05 AM in Room 2103.  The focus of the Women Up Club, is to create a strong, supportive community of mentorship between young women at Northview.  We hope you see you there!

 

Any SADD member who could not make yesterday’s meeting and would like to order a t-shirt, please see Mr. Burba as soon as possible.

 

Four weeks from today is the SADD Blood Drive! Students 16 years old and up, can sign up in Mr. Burba’s room.  You can get Government and Service hours for donating, but more importantly your one pint will save three lives.  Think of giving the gift of life.

 

Therapists from the West Michigan area are gathering to host a Music Therapy Career Day, an event for students interested in the field of music therapy, on Thursday, October 10th from 3:00-5:00 PM.  This session will take place at the Spectrum Health Group in Grand Rapids.  Registration is required.  Additional information can be found in the Counseling office.

 

The Advanced Theatre Arts class is preparing for the 3rd annual THEATRE BY THE NUMBERS and we need your writing. Any student or staff member is invited to submit an original piece of writing to be performed by the class. Please submit your short scenes/skits, short stories, monologues, and poetry for a live dramatization. Pick up an application from your English teacher or see Mrs. Hoffman in Room 2108.  Deadline to submit pieces is Wednesday, October 16th.

 

  • The Marines will visit during lunches next Monday, October 7th.
  • The Navy will visit during lunches on Tuesday, October 15th.

 

A College Fair at Aquinas College is being held on Tuesday, October 15th from 12:00-2:00 PM and 6:00-7:30 PM at the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center on campus.  More than 70 colleges, universities and military personnel will be present.

 

Registration is now taking place for Juniors interested in taking the PSAT/NMSQT test on Wednesday, October 16th.  Students can register in the Counseling Office by Friday, October 11th.  The fee is $20.00.

 

Grand Rapids Community College is hosting their “Fall Open House” on Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM.  Visit grcc.edu/openhouse for more information.

 

College Representatives visit NHS throughout the school year.  These are excellent opportunities for students to learn more about college’s admissions process and other general information.  To find a current list and to sign-up to attend a visit, students need to sign into their Naviance account or see the Guidance department announcements.

PSAT/NMSQT TESTING:  registration is now taking place for interested Juniors.  Test date is Wed., Oct. 16th and the fee is $20.00 students must register in the Counseling Office by Fri. Oct. 11th.
