Please note, the newly enacted No Child Left Behind Act calls for testing special education students unless the student is tested with an alternative assessment, as determined by their IEPC. For this reason, many special education students’ scores are included in these results.
Michigan law requires that we report test performance according to gender as well. We continue to monitor all areas of equity throughout our district.
Per federal guidelines, statistically sound data is not disaggregated by race, ethnicity, disability status, English proficiency, or economically disadvantaged status since the population in those subgroups is less than thirty students per grade level tested.

North Oakview AYP information
What is Adequate Yearly Progress?
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is a measure of year-to-year student achievement on the Michigan Education Assessment Program (MEAP) test. North Oakview, along with every Northview building, made AYP. A student is considered proficient if scores are earned in either Level 1 or Level 2 of the test.
AYP is calculated based on each content area separately (reading/language arts and math). The following table shows the federal target levels, as set in the No Child Left Behind Act based on the 2001-02 MEAP data and the scores obtained by the Northview building. The federal law also requires at least 95% of the school’s students to be tested.
What are the federal target scores set for the test and what score did North Oakview achieve?
