STUDENT BODY ANNOUNCEMENTS

This Friday WAVE will greet everyone at the door for another Wildcat Kindness Day!

This Friday is the annual MANDEX volleyball game between the Junior and Senior guys. The game will start after the boys basketball game in the small gym. Admission is $5.00 and all proceeds will go to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Come join the fun and cheer on your fellow Wildcats!

Congratulations to Megan Paasche on winning the MHSAA regional slalom race in skiing this past Monday. Megan went on to win the grand slalom race that same day! Alex Ambrose finished 7th and qualified for states in slalom as an individual, and the girls team finished 3rd to qualify for states. Overall, a great day for the whole team!

Fling Tickets will be on sale TODAY thru Thursday, during both lunches. Cost is $15. NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR. Dance Guest Permission Slips are in the Main Office, and are due back to Ms. Charland TODAY.

There is recycling TODAY after school in Ms. Snyder’s classroom.

Anyone interested in playing softball this year will meet TODAY at 2:45 in the cafeteria.

Breaking the Stigma will meet TOMORROW in Mr. Hendricks room starting at 2:45.

The “Pennies for Patients” fundraising campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, ends TOMORROW. Students and staff are encouraged to drop their change in the coin bags located in classrooms and offices. The competition is among grade levels. Also, if we raise $1,000 by TOMORROW, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Dickerson and Mr. Marsman have all agreed to take a pie in the face! For every dollar you donate, you can put your name in a drawing to be the person who gets to do the pie in the face to the administrators. Stop by the Counseling Office to buy a raffle ticket. Help us raise funds for the LLS!

Girls Who Code Club is open to all High School girls hoping to learn more about the field of computer coding. This is a career field that is seeking more involvement from women, and we are providing you with the tools to help you learn more about it. Please join us in the Fishbowl every Monday from 2:45 to 4:00. There is a minimal club fee of $10 to help cover snacks and other expenses.

• The U.S. Army will visit during lunches this Thursday.
• Douglas J Aveda Institute will visit during lunches on Monday, February 17th.

This Friday, Northview High School will conduct a school-wide Practice SAT for Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors. Students will report to their 1st hour teacher and remain in their 1st hour class the entire Practice SAT.

Seniors will have the option to get volunteer hours, go on a college visit, or attend a job shadow this Friday morning. Forms will be available in the Counseling Office and must be turned into the Main Office for attendance purposes.

Any student that would like to take the practice SAT, but does not have a 1st hour in the building may report to Mr. Wiersma in the Media Center and participate in the Practice SAT.

Sylvan Learning Centers in Rockford is offering a FREE SAT or ACT practice test this Saturday and next Monday, February 17th. Space is limited. Stop in the Counseling office for more information.

KCTC is holding their “Spring Open House” on Thursday, March 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. This is an excellent opportunity for students and their families to explore the various programs that KCTC has to offer.

KCTC Criminal Justice applications for the 2020-2021 school year, are now available in the Counseling office. Deadline to apply is by 3:00 PM on Friday, March 6th.

The Speed Building Competition is for people who can build a brand new kit really fast. The Creation Competition is for people who love to use their own LEGOs to build amazing original designs. Grand Rapids Police will be hosting their Summer Youth Police Academy. This is open to 10th through 12th grade students who have a 2.0 GPA and interested in law enforcement. Stop in the Counseling Office for more information.

COLLEGE VISIT REMINDER: if students are planning on taking a day off from school to do a college visit, you must pick up a form in the Counseling office prior to your visit. The absence cannot be excused without the required form turned into the attendance office.

KUYPER COLLEGE: is hosting Kuyper Experience Days on the following dates: Feb. 21st and Mar. 27th. This is a great opportunity to learn more about what Kuyper has to offer.
