Contact Tracing – Update from 9/27/21 Family Communication

Thank you for your patience as we navigate another year of COVID-19 contact tracing. This year has been particularly challenging as it relates to quarantine requirements vs recommendations. In order to streamline and improve the process of notifying families when their student has been identified as a ‘close contact,’starting today our office teams will notify parents/guardians via email, not a phone call. If your student is identified as having an exposure at school, you will receive one of two letters:

Recommend to quarantine” (your student was a ‘close contact’ and a quarantine is recommended); or

Notice of close contact” (your student was a ‘close contact’ but a quarantine is not recommended at this time).

Our staff will continue to make personal phone calls if your student is required to quarantine. Please continue to check your email for these, and other important school updates. You may review the email address on file using our ParentVue Student Information System.

Not sure how to access our ParentVue system? Please follow these instructions: How to Access ParentVue.

Prevention Starts With Washing Your Hands

Washing your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds is one of the easiest and most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs.

Avoid contact with people who are sick.

Cover your cough and sneeze with tissue.

Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.

Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects frequently.

Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.

Free Virtual Screenings

Corewell Health is offering free virtual screenings to any Michigan resident who is experiencing symptoms and has concerns that they may have COVID-19. Callers to the hotline will be scheduled for a virtual video visit and assisted with downloading the Corewell Health Now app. During the virtual video visit, individuals will be asked a series of questions about their condition by a Corewell Health provider who will advise whether they need to seek additional care. Call (616) 391-2380 to schedule a virtual visit.
